Default Concerned about nerve block procedure

My doctor has recommended a procedure called lumbar radiofrequency ablation which would block pain receptors for chronic lower back pain. My research shows this to be an effective and fairly safe procedure. My concern is that this could be a "bandaid" that just masks the underlying problem and could resuly in my not being aware if I aggravate or worsen the underlying problem since I will no longer feel pain in that region. Anyone who has had this procedure done or has further info?

Smile Hello christyc!

Welcome to NT!

I've heard of this procedure but don't know much about it.
I would be curious to know how this works, as I suffer from debilitating lower back pain.

Hopefully you'll get responses from others who have done this.

Keep us posted!

Caring,
Rae

Hi there. Just wanted to say welcome. I have never heard of this procedure. My husband has had the epidural injections (a set of 3). Did not help him. I'm going to look into this. Thank you very much
