Default Help with information on muscle spasm diseases

I have had entire back muscle spasms for almost two months now, which has sparked off sciatica. I it from the top of my neck to the base of my legs. I am seeing a neurologist, he has ruled out MS with a brain MRI, but he does not know what is causing the muscle spasms. I am taking medications, but all I do is sleep. Is there anyone with similar symptoms, that can give me some advise?

Hi Lisa,
I've been having bad esophageal spasms and my gastro-enterologist just put me on an anti-spasmodic called Baclofen. So far, so good -- it's working great! The reason I am mentioning it is that when I read up on it, I saw that it's good for all sorts of muscle spasms and it's being used in MS sometimes. So, it has a wide range of uses!

I used to get spasms and twitches in my leg muscles a lot. I don't very often anymore since I changed up my diet. I'm eating more organic foods, veggies, whole grains, and very little red meat. I mostly eat seafood, sometimes chicken and lots of veg. Unfortunately, I have to cook my veggies to death because of the Crohn's Disease and I can't eat green leafy veggies often because I have to take blood thinners. But, still, increasing the whole grains and veg portion of my foodies has helped.

Worth a try!

HI. Welcome to Neurotalk.

Have you ever tried Quinine Water? I don't know if it's available in your area but it's been helpful in other cases of muscle spasms.

Best of luck and hope you get some answers. We are a nice bunch of friendly folk here.

I do wish you well and I hope you get some relief soon.

Please take care

Melody
