Default Sober in LYH

hey,

I am new, obviously, and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a divorced, 38 year old alcoholic, sober 201 days today, and looking for any help I can find to alleviate the trouble I am having with my legs (assuming its alcohol induced). I am slowly getting better with a better diet, no booze and moderate exercise. But, I am looking for any other kind of help (legal!) to improve my quality of life...

So, thats it in a nutshell....look forward to posting and reading...

Laugh Hello Icehouse!

Welcome to NT!

You've sure come to the right place for support and understanding. Congratulations, by the way, for being sober for over 200 days!

The thing that sticks out in your post is what you said about your legs. Have you seen a doctor on this yet? I would highly recommend you check out the Peripheral Neuropathy forum. Here is the link to get you there:

One of the biggest culprits of PN is alcohol in excess. Now, I'm not saying you have this condition, but if your pain is burning in nature, I'd sure like to see you mingle with those over there.
I've had PN for over 6 yrs. Not fun.

It's great to have you here with us!
Please holler if you have any questions. So many people here ready to help

Caring,
Rae

Thanks all, yes I have read over that thread and I fit the bill. I have not seen a "capable" doctor yet. But, once my insurance at work kicks in thats where I am heading....

Hi there.

Being sober for that long is no small feat. Congratulations. Took a lot of guts and fortitude.

You are definitely in the right place.

Hope you find your answers.

Take care and here's to your next 201 days!!!
