Default looking for some answers on ministoke

i am 38 years old was having some sharps pains in the right side of my head, never thought anything of it then one night i was standing up to get out of the bath and had all the symptons of a mini stoke , but did not realize it till about two weeks later, i have a history, if i go get checked after the fact , can they still do tests or something to tell if that is what is was, or do i just hope it never happens again, ANY info would so extremely helpful i worried cause i read on the net that if you have a mini stroke t is likely with in 3 months you could possibly have a full blown stroke , i called my doc told him the symptons , he just said if it happens again make an app he will change my blood pressure meds, still very worried.!!

Smile Hello newfie!

Welcome to NT!

You've found a wonderful place for support and understanding.
Is this the only time you've experienced this 'mini-stroke'? When you do talk to your Dr, make sure you give him details of what happened. He will probably do an MRI to look for the tale-tale signs of stroke. It could be TIA's, which are a type of mini-stroke. I don't know enough about this, however, but I'm sure others will join in.
Meanwhile, here's the link to get you to our 'Stroke' forum:

I know how frightened you must be, but stick around and know that you are certainly not alone.
I hope you will get answers very soon.

Caring,
Rae

OK first go to the doctor. A mini stroke is usually caused by a blood clot in the brain. Google either mini stroke or TIA they are both the same. Again DO NOT WAIT.
