Default Good Day to All!

I have joined this group in hopes of finding information on TBIs and SSD.

My son was injured back in September 2011. The result is TBI.

I read a few comments last night and appreciate the insight and that the members of this site are willing to open up and talk about all that goes on in their lives.

I hope that I may be able to contribute in a postive way to all.

Thank you!

Hi Debra and welcome.

I'm a TBI survivor also. Rather than go into my story in detail I'll just say that patience, support, and indeed, hope, are key ingredients to healing.

My injury was in November 2010. The cognitive part of my recovery took about 6 months, the emotional part is ongoing, but for the most part I’m glad to be alive. You may PM me if you would like more details.

Best to you and your son as you contiue your recovery.

Default Than you!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my message.

My son goes to the neurosurgeon tomorrow for stitch removal from the surgery.

I wrote a letter and faxed it to the doctor asking for information on his condition and what is our next step for recovery.

I am currently working in NJ and my son is in Florida.

I advised his surgeon that he has a SSD claim and what we need to proceed in qualifying for this benefit.

It is a waiting game and hopefully tomorrow I will have the answers to go forward.
