Default 2nd hearing with ALJ after remand

I am waiting for my decision from the same ALJ, do they really listen to the Appeal Council recommendation when the Appeals Council vacate the orderdue to not giving weight to my doctors and the type of work I can or cannot do. The VE stated with my illness that there is no work I can do. I am also depressed with bipolar. Please wish me luck I need money badly

Smile Hello Karen!

Welcome to NT!

You've found a great place for support and understanding.
I see you've posted in the SSD forum. There are many helpful folks over there. I sure hope the appeals come through for you. The most frustrating thing about this is the waiting.

I sure understand how you feel with the depression. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. It's amazing how much it helps to get to know others who battle depression and bipolar. There are SO many wonderful people on the Bipolar forum. Here's the link to get you there:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...sprune=-1&f=38

We also have a forum for depression, so please feel at home here. It really does help to talk about it. I've battled depression for much of my life.

It's great to have you here, Karen!

Caring,
Rae

It seems everyone is happy to welcome you, but what is the answer to your question? I wonder this same thing.

Ray,

You will often get a more direct answer to a question if you start your own thread rather than add to an old one.

Most of these responses are clearly from the forum's welcome committee......that's what they do. Their forum id's do not denote that they are experts on Social Security law.

Those of us who post in the SS forum regularly do try to answer questions if we are online and see the question AND if we know the answer. If we don't know the answer, we might just want to offer our support.

I was hesitant before to respond to this thread before because I know little about what happens when the Appeals Council is involved. I am fairly confident, though, in saying the ALJ is required to read the Appeals Council recommendation. The ALJ doesn't have to AGREE with that recommendation.

I had my remand a couple months ago, and it went terrible for me, he denied me again. They are suppose to listen to the appeals council, but who really know's. At this hearing the judge gave no weight to my family doctor at all and all the weight to the doctor they sent me too who saw me for 4 min. I wish you all the luck in the world.
