Confused I am new member here

Hello, I am a new member and wife of a man who has been suffering with peripheral and autonomic neuropathy now for about 11 years. I am hoping to find some help possibly for some of the the phases he goes through. He seems to have different problems at different times and we get a bit tired of hearing "we can only treat the symptoms" or "there is nothing we can do for that". I do believe that is one of the most frustrating parts of the disease.
My husband now is getting where he is freezing regardless of temperature. We live in florida where right now it is approximately 84 degrees and he suffers if I turn the air on so we let it build up and I try to get some relief by sitting under fans. Regardless of how hot it gets he is still freezing and has not had a full nights sleep in weeks. I am hoping to find others with this particular problem and find out how they cope. It looks like a wonderful site and I am glad to have found it.

Smile Hello Florida-val!

Welcome to NT!

You've found a great place for support and understanding!
I'm sorry your husband is battling this very frustrating condition. It's good that you are here seeking out information on his behalf.
Darlene pointed you to the PN forum and you'll be amazed at the amount of knowledge there is on this.

Your husband is certainly not alone in this and you'll get good feedback from many others who also battle this.

It's great to have you!

Caring,
Rae

Default I'm sorry to hear, I can't offer any advice, but I can relate.

I just recently joined this forum, and I've gone through much of the same thing with doctors saying those things. I'm 21 now, but have been in and out of hospitals since I was 9 when I was diagnosed with epilepsy, I know how frustrating is can get to have the people that are supposed to be able to help you turn to you and say "I can't help you." I really hope you can find something here or elsewhere to help your husband, I can't imagine how miserable he must get. =( I wish you and him the best, and you'll be in my prayers.
