Hi. I found all you wonderful people last night on one of my bad nights - no sleep due to post concussion migraines but there is great comfort in knowing I'm not alone in my "frustration" that is currently my life. My lovely little car decided it preferred it's roof 8/01/12. BEWARE Diesel Spills! My head and neck CT showed "nothing of consequence" - but four months on I have all the symptoms of PCS still and my neurologist said "just learn to live with it!
I did have a bright shiny moment after seeing my osteopath for the first time - three whole days and nights PAIN FREE I even felt like my old self, but sadly I went back for my third visit yesterday and I'm back to being the Crash-Test-Piwi |

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition. Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life. |
