Welcome, hopefully your symptoms improve soon. Unfortunately with PCS it's difficult to know when that will be. One sure thing is you can find support from folks with similar experiences.

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition.

Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life.

Well, my name is Melody and it means musical. I also sprout all my own food in an indoor garden in my living room.

Did a WORLD of good for my body. Haven't had to take an antibiotic in 17 years. I have diabetes but it's controlled because I do the absolute best I can to do whatever I need to do so my body doesn't fall apart before it absolutely has to. lol

Take care

Melody

Hi Halgan, You have severe neuro-inflammation. Inflammation is activated by the innate immune system by increased productions of leukotrienes and prostaglandins. These are produced by omega 6 fatty acids in your diet, arachidonic acid. Not enough omega 3's, EPA & DHA, will create an imbalance causing lingering symptoms. Adding HIGH doses of omega 3's, 5-10 grams a day, will reduce you symptoms significantly. It is not 10 grams of fish oil, it is 10 grams of EPA & DHA. More DHA is better, look for 2:1 ratio.
