G'day
I've just registered with the forum. From some previous posts it seems most topics are covered. I'm trying to find a post that deals with a weird numbness and tingling of the lips and tongue on the right side and numbness of the right side of the face. Tongue on the right has become very sensitive. I've had CT and MRI scans and as per most on this forum, nothing shows up.
Docs reckon it's TN, as years ago ( I'm 62 ) I had the excruciating neuralgia pain through the right eye and cheek also right side of scalp has been super sensitive at times.
Anyone tried accupuncture ?? Docs tell me there's no cure and would appreciate any feedback from those who may have similiar symptoms.
Judging from the general opinion here it seems a lot of us are just going to have to wear this problem as best we can.

G'day from another Aussie Bill, and welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm sorry that you're going through these symptoms. It must be frustrating not to get a diagnosis that satisfies.

What you describe could be caused by a variety of conditions, Bell's Palsy, pinched nerves, shingles ... although they present more acutely than you describe, neuropathy, dental tumours, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis and even Vitamin deficiencies but don't dismiss the diagnosis your doctor suggested because your symptoms sound like they could well fit those of TN.

Please call by our TN Forum and post your concerns over there. I'm sure that one of our members will have more information than I do about it.

Here's the link : http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum26.html

Another option for you is to go to the top of any page and use the Search option. Type in the symptoms that interest you and see what other posts you can find on that topic.

I hope this helps in some way, but do feel free to ask if it's not what you seek.

Thank you for the welcome Darlene. Seems like a very helpful site for those with problems of this sort. I think we have something in common with Texas here, you get Tornadoes and here in Far North Queensland we get Cyclones, both of which I feel we could live without.

Wink

The town I live in had a bad tornado in 1970. At that time I lived about 30 minutes away from it. It wiped out most of the downtown area. During this time of the year a great number of us walk like we are on pins and needles with fear of another one.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
