Crazy New to the Board but not TN

Hi All,
I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia, even though my must severe pain was in the ear, 4 years ago after 5 months of run around. I have been on various meds but currently Tegratol and Baclofen are doing the trick for the most part. I do have break through pain on a regular basis but it is not too bad. I am looking for some information before I make a decision on surgery and hopefully that is where this Board can help. I really want to hear about other people's experience especially since it seems like I might have Geniculate Neuralgia instead of or in addition to TN and my doctor's don't talk about GN very much.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone
Kay
