I've been a nurse for 35yrs. Most of my career was in surgery; every thing from myringotomy/tubes to heart transplants. Now I am an infusion nurse. I have my own company and contract with a specialty pharmacy giving Immune Globulin to patients with auto-immune disorders. I am looking forward to reading the posts here. But.. .. ..I do have a situation/question for the forum. My neighbor has been on home O2 via concentrator for several years. I live next door in a townhome. We had a wicked storm about three weeks ago and lost power. I don't know if that had anything to do with this or not; but after this point in time I felt the motor of the concentrator vibrating my house both up and downstairs. I went over and took them two thick rubber mats to put the concentrator on but it didn't help. Since that time I feel like I am vibrating all the time all over my body. It doesn't stop. I am concerned I have some underlying neurological pathology that has been triggered by the vibrations in my home. This is no joke, I haven't slept a full night in over three weeks. I know, I know, I need to go to the doctor. I just know the drill. PCP --> Neurologist --> Psychiatrist. Well, I may need a shrink eventually if I can't stop vibrating and threaten to off myself. Sooooo, does anyone here want to dare a guess at my issue? Thanks so much!

So they didn't move it after the storm, closer to a main beam or wall?
Could there be any structural or wiring damage by the storm that might be causing this?
Was it a electrical/lightning storm?
Might be worth having an inspector or some sort of electrical contractor do some testing?? There is all kinds of test equipment...

But I suppose getting yourself checked out would be good too just in case, but if the sx started right after that storm, i just wonder if the home was affected and not really you??
Or do you have the sx 24/7 even when away from the home for hrs? I wonder what would happen if you stayed in a hotel or friends home for a day or 2?

I have tried everything. 1) discussed with my neighbor who immediately took offense, circled the wagons, and made me feel like I was picking on his wife having to be on O2. I explained to him I could not sleep from the floor vibrations and he flat denied I was feeling anything from them. This is the president of our HO so that is out. 2) I have stayed at a hotel 3) I have stayed with family. I continue to vibrate. It is like having been out at sea for weeks and coming back to dry land and still feeling you are at sea; yet mine is vibration. I have put my townhome up for sale; but the market is soft and who knows if a potential buyer might feel the vibration and walk away. My only recourse with my neighbor is involving an attorney if my house won't sell. This is bad. If I thought I had to live this way for the rest of my life I would not want to live. This is how bad it is for me.

Maybe it just happened to trigger something in you and others won't notice it.
Do any friends or guests notice anything when they come over?

If basic blood work and tests are clear/normal, maybe something outside the box will help, like acupuncture , hypnosis or naturopathic care?

This is an interesting problem.

Do other people feel this vibration in your home? Is it different with your shoes off? Can you feel it in the floor or walls, or does it seem to come from within you? Is it a thumping, or a "buzz"?

We over at the PN forum sometimes have a buzz thing that happens. It can be the beginning of a type of neuropathy possibly.

One the most basic and common thing to check physically would be a B12 level, to see if you are low. I see in your profile you are a long time surgical nurse? Exposed perhaps to nitrous oxide during occupational situations in tiny amounts daily there? Nitrous oxide has been shown to affect medical personnel over time by impairing B12 metabolism. There is alot of verification of this on Google and PubMed searches.
Currently in US lab ranges report very low levels as "normal" so if you
get tested, get your numbers. New treatment protocols suggest now a
minimum test at 400...which at PN we consider still "low".

But if you have stayed elsewhere, and don't feel it, in other places, it suggests something either mechanical or electrical.
Did you lose power during those storms for a while, and this was only after power was restored? There could be power line issues involved or a large generator still going somewhere?

We live on an island and for 2 years a lighthouse miles into the lake was doing renovations, and it made a sort of HUM which came thru the bedrock (limestone in this case) and up thru
the rock into the metal casement windows. We'd hear and sort of sense this "HUM" at night when all was quiet. It was kind of spooky because it is so quiet there, which allowed us to sense it. Finally the sound and feeling ended when the lighthouse was reopened , and we realized that was the source of the hum.

My father had that kind of Machine for 02. It did make a noise. You arn't necessarily wrong that this machine may be vibrating, in fact more so since that storm you had. Before you think of the doctor route, perhaps you could ask your neighbor, to have a service rep. or who they "purchased" or "rented" it from to take a look at it.
I live in a high tourist area, I know how difficult it can be with noise, cars vibrating the speakers that shake the windows, people walking by at all hours of the night. It can make you crazy! Since you share a common wall, I think I would ask this of my neighbor first, and explain the situation more to them. Also if you have an HOA in your complex, there may be some solution to reduce vibration.
If you feel it is "you" that is vibrating, that may be a different issue all together. Is this like trembling, like if you are cold? or have a fever? Are you in pain? I know others may have some ideas too. Sleep is ever so important, we don't function very well without it, so I know you need a solution. Hope some others will come by too. Ginnie

Thank-you all for your input. I became sensitized to the vibration and I vibrate all the time. Others have felt the vibration in my home. Even if I am calming down the smallest vibration sets me off like a tuning fork. I am in my bed vibrating away. I see my PCP tomorrow. My neighbor is the HO President and is adamant my vibration is coming from my home, not his. I have turned off my power at the breaker box and I feel the vibration from his wife's condensor. It is not in my home. I am trying to sell my home; but until then I am living in hell. I have talked to the O2 provider and they switched out the machine July 2. I told the guy it was still vibrating my home. I don't get it since she has been on O2 for years. Hopefully, I can get some answers tomorrow. I'll check back in. Thanks again all!
