Default Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a 64 yr. old femaie. I've had 7 lumbar spine surgeries. 5 of them were in 2002 due to a MRSA infection. As a precautionary measure all the instrumentaion was removed and I had a long Vancomycin I.V. treatment.
I had a CFS but was told it was repaired.

In 2006, I had a Revision surgery because the previous fusion didn't work.

2009, I went to UM due to severe pain and was told I had a CSF but as long as it was capped off, I didn't have to worry. I was also diagnosed with Arachnoiditis.

Now due to severe pain I had another MRI. Two findings I'm concerned about:
1. L1/2 a broad disk bulge with right paracentral disk protrusion and bilateral facet hypertrophy causing moderate to severe canal stenosis.
2. There is a midline posterior fluid collection from L2/3 - L5 measuring 7.4 x 2.3 x 1.4 cm suggesting a seroma or pseudomenmingocele.

Could these findings be the cause of my new severe pain in the right buttock and lower lumbar area. I had a Rhizotomy of my R. S.I. joint recently but that didn't help.

I have chronic pain in my legs, etc. , but that's manageable. I'm not able to walk very much with this new pain.

Can you help me understand and make any suggestions?

Hi, and welcome to the community! I'm afraid most of what you said is Greek to me, but if you haven't found it yet, you'll likely find what you're looking for in our forum for Spinal Disorders. Here is the link:

You might find some information in some of the other links, so feel free to jump in anywhere!
