Hi everybody! I am so pleased to be able to talk to others with similar problems as me. I had a head injury as a result of an RTA in 1995. This evolved into epilepsy in 2001 and progressed to Transient Epileptic Amnesia this year. I'd never heard of it and I don't think many doctors have actually come across it the flesh(!). It would be wonderful to hear from others who know what I'm talking about.

Welcome to NT!
You've found a fantastic place for support and understanding! I see you are finding your way around the forums. You'll find some very caring peeps over at the Epilepsy and TBI forums. Make yourself right at home and holler if you have any questions. It's great to have you here! Caring, Rae |

Wow, AImac.
Since your TEA diagnosis is rather new, may I kindly suggest that you consider joining with a couple of TEA people to create an official space online, in addition to your attracting people with TEA to come together here to share their insights, coping skills, strengths and hopes, Would you ever consider founding the world's first mutual support group for human beings with TEA? Perhaps by just taking a formal group name? And having a Yahoo group on the side, just to collect and store all matter of helpful files and URLs - so people know they are truly "not alone" when they get a TEA diagnosis? You could just "build it" and see who comes. Hmm. In addition to seeking out other TEA people here within the suggested NT Forums, a Yahoo or other TEA online group could be like a flag pole - run up the TEA flag and "see who salutes"? No, perhaps a better metaphor to describe for a TEA online support group, as serving as a "lightning rod" of sorts with others like you being the lightning energy, each searching for good place to invest their energy. Im' not sure that I should be mixing too many metaphors. But I think there's a good metaphor out there, for what you could do. Any better mataphor idea? Perhaps it's just your possibly "lighting a candle, rather than curing the TEA darkness." Just an idea/ Take good care and hope, - Ed "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it." - Helen Keller |
