Confused CSF Rhinorrhea/IIH

Hi all, I have just been diagnosed with spontaneous CSF rhinorrhea and will have surgery on Sept. 14 to correct it. At this point, the assumed underlying cause is idiopathic intracranial hypertension. This is all new to me (heck, I just thought I had a runny nose!) and I'm not finding a whole lot of information out there. Apparently this is a fairly rare disorder. What I'm wondering is if anyone has had an endoscopic repair of a nasal CSF leak, and if so, what was the recovery like? Any information anyone has on any of this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Carol

Smile Hi Carol!

Welcome to NT!

You've found a wonderful place of support and understanding.
I'm so sorry for this reason which brings you here. I'm sure you'll get some good input, and hopefully find more information on this.

I wish I knew more about what you are facing, but I am unfamiliar.
We do have a CSF Leak forum. Here's the link to take you there:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...sprune=-1&f=78

Another thing that you might find very helpful is the 'search' feature toward the top in that bar that runs across the screen. Type in the word(s) of interest and it'll bring up posts on the topic.
This is a good thing to do while you are waiting to get responses.

I hope you can get the answers you are looking for.
It's great to have you here!

Caring,
Rae
