Default hello...porencephalic cyst/natural labor question

Hello! I'm new here and was diagnosed some years ago with a porencephalic brain cyst. I have been doing good and only suffer from mild migraines. I was wondering if having this type of cyst would affect me having a natural labor as I am currently pregnant. I saw my neurologist but still have concerns after he said I would be fine. Any women out there have natural labor and OK with this cyst?

Hello tmom107!

I am not quite familiar with your health situation, before replying I tried my best to look up some more information to get a better grasp of it but from what I could understand this is a rare condition that may be responsible for delayed growth and development, spastic paresis (slight or incomplete paralysis), hypotonia (decreased muscle tone), seizures (often infantile spasms) among many other things.

If you've been able to get along with this so far with nothing but mild migraines, pregnancy has been going on well and Doctor also says things would be ok, then we can hope labor will be just like a regular one and both mom and baby will be just fine

Best of luck and keep us posted with how it all goes

Default thank you :)

Thank you for the welcome. I think I'm just nervous because I read that during pregnancy and labor that the brain swells so I don't want any complications!
