Default gabapentin

Just joined today. I have started on the medication gabapentin to address back and leg pain. I broke my back over 40 years ago in the military and had a fusion of L5- s1. As I have aged I have had increased back and leg pain. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this drug, either positive or negative. I have been on 300 at10am, 300 at 4pm, and 600 at 10pm for a few weeks. I have so far gotten moderate relief. Thank you.

Default

Welcome

It is a great drug for most my symptoms.

It did, however, Have some unpleasant side effects for me.

Couldn't shake it in the mornings...

Memory loss when I would take it...

Discuss concerns with your doctor.

Some of my doctors wouldn't write it, at all.

You have to do what you have to do, for now..
Take care...

Hello. I just joined today. As a physician, but also one who has peripheral neuropathy myself, I can say that gabapentin is worth a try in your treatment. It rarely, in my experience, works completely, but can complement the effects of other medications and therapies. Be patient with this drug. I suspect you will likely need to increase the daily dosage over time, but that, of course, is an individual treatment issue. You are off to a good start.
