Default Maybe RSD?

I am new to this forum and hoping someone can help give me answers. Based on most of the information I have saw online all RSD cases seem to be full blown. I am wanting to know for any of you started mild and got worse and if so what were your initial symptoms? My podiatrist has sent me to a neuro for consutlation and I wasn't impressed much with him. He said if I had it it was mild and mild cases do not go bad. I am very concerned that I am wasting time when I should be doing something. Can anyone that started mild provide me with info regarding symptoms, appearance, etc.?
