Default Hello

Hello,
New to forum. 50 years old former truck driver involned in accident in 2006. Cervical, Thoraic, Lumbar injuries. Chronic pain syndrome, nerve damage............... Saw my 10th Pain mang Dr. today. Told me depression is causing pain, I think just opposite. Have had epidural, SI Joint Injections, Microdisc surgery 2006 no help. Pain meds with some relief. Todays Dr.left me with script to see psychiatrist and Physical Therapists. Expressed concerns about withdrawls from pain meds, told me withdrawl won't kill me. NOT LOOKING FOR PAIN MEDS, But they help and dread stopping cold turkey. Oxycodone works best for break thru pain. Can't find good maintance drug. Tried MS Contin, Oxycontin and Nuycenta, all no relief. I'm lost right now.

That doctor was totally remiss in "taking care" of you!! He should have given you something to either help you wean off or to keep you from withdrawing. I don't call him much of a pain doctor!

Can you go to your regular doctor and tell him what happened? He might be able to help you and keep you from having to go into withdrawals until you can see another doctor. It's worth a try.

I wish you the very best. It's a horrible position to be in, but I've been there before, and it's miserable. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee
