Grin Well...Hey There!

Hi everyone, I am new here.. I wanted to introduce myself and give you some info on my health.. I am from Louisiana, I am married and have 2 boys ages 19 and 6..(yes..I know..what was I thinking??) I have been having neck/back pain, not unbearable but there. Then one morning I woke up and thought that I must have slept wrong b/c my neck was killing me and my left side was numb.. Well that was just the start of it.. I had been having carpel tunnel issues (severe pain in right hand) So starting seeing a Dr that specializes in Sports Medicine, she also has done some Osteo Modification Therapy on me (which worked only for short periods for me) After a few rounds of steroids by mouth and me going back to her over and over still in pain, She referred me to go get a nerve conduction test, so I did. The dr. there kept asking me if I had diabeties, but I told him No just the opposite, I have a problems with my sugar dropping and making me feel HORRIBLE! He responds by saying that it was weird b/c I have Severe Neuropathy on both sides and more severe on the left side and also I have carpel tunnel on both sides. So I see my Dr. again and she sends me for Xray and blood work.. She calls the next day and says she wants me to do MRI b/c she didnt like what she saw in Xray.. I'm thinking huh??? So I put it off for a week or two and she calls me and says, Please go do it.. So I go.. the next day she calls and tells me I have disc issues and also told me to get copies of MRI report and she made appt with Sports Medicine Surgeon for Carpel Tunnel surgery. So I do that, had CT surgery and got instant relief! I am going on 5 weeks post op and although its still very tender, its alot better than the pain I had before!! I will post MRI report on another but the Impression is Multilevel aquired degenerative spinal stenosis.

Kguinn,

Glad to hear you have gotten instant relief after having surgery. That's the good part. Of course, the MRI does not seem to paint a very good picture.

A little over seven years ago, I underwent spinal fusion, as well as a laminectomy because of the spinal stenosis. Unfortunately, still dealing with pain. This is something that is usually progressive. The laminectomy did open an area of the spine that had been most narrowed. But, there are other areas still showing spinal stenosis.

Looking forward to hear from you what is recommended.

Wink Greetings!!

kguinn,

It is great to have you come and be with us. You will fine a great number of dear friends to listen when you are in need of ears. You will find out we are supportive and relaxing place.

Yes there is a big age gap in your boys. My dad and mom have three kids, which me being the youngest, my brother is 11 years older than me, and my sister is 22 years older. Guess my parents could not handle 2 at the same time. lol

Great to see you are feeling better now after the surgery.

Please keep us up to date on your situation. Again welcome, looking forward to seeing you around. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
