Smile Greetings and salutations

Greetings and salutations to all, I'm the new kid on the block. This is my first experience in this type of arena, but I'm looking forward to becoming a part of such a vast and supportive community.

My friends and family call me Can, mainly, I suspect, because they're too lazy to bother with the extra syllable in Candace. I'm an almost-thirty year old banker living in the DC Metro area.

A spinal cord stimulator implanted in early 2011 for abdominal pain, and now, some new and troubling back pain have brought me to your community. In joining your ranks, I hope to be able to find and offer information, guidance, commiseration, and support, in and for others out there. Others who just might be feeling the same way I do, as much as it may often feel otherwise.

All too often I feel alone and exhausted in this fight against my pain, pain which breaks my spirit almost as much as it breaks my body. Facing each new day can seem like a rather daunting task, an insurmountable challenge, a never-ending uphill climb. Before I became a shell of my former self, transformed and unrecognizable by this pain, I used to always say "you can't let the daunting daunt you". Well my friends, I hope that with your help, I can become Dauntless once more!

Thanks!

-Can

Hello "Can" and welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm glad you found us and I'm sure you'll like it here.

From reading your post, I think you'd benefit from either the Spinal Cord Stimulator forum, or the Spinal Disorders Forum. In both, you'll find people who are very knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. Please don't hesitate to post in either one as I'm sure you'll even make friends!

Again, welcome and I hope we hear more from you. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee
