Confused Mandibular Infection???

Hi. I am new here and have a question about mandibular infections-- infections of the jaw bone. I am really concerned.

It all started out as ear pain in November. I was given loads of anti-biotics - then a balance test. The balance test was normal. I had vertigo, ear pain, ear ringing-- on the left side.

In December and January my face on the left side started hurting... and I ended up with a root canal -- upper tooth-- first molar. They used carbocaine b/c this is all I can use. I wasn't given anti-biotics before this- they did it the same day I came in.

Well, the pain I was having was actually in my bicuspid tooth- on the left side- but the pain when they tapped was on the first molar.

Now, it feels like I have pressure in my head- and in these two teeth. Neither feel right. I have been checked by many dentists and a different endodontist twice. Today he said- it was a bit sensitive...

I had a CT scan in February for facial pain and it was normal- but online it says you have to have a bone scan.

My temple hurts. My ear hurts. Those two teeth hurt-- and he says that we will give it a month when I am off of these anti-biotics and recheck the bicuspid (pointed tooth)-- and maybe do a root canal on it!!

I am seeing a neurologist and see him again on the 3rd. I stay confused-- have the facial pain- ear pain-- and pain above that pointed tooth... Upper teeth-- or I would have them PULLED at this point.

I have been told I do NOT have trigeminal neuralgia.... and I am afraid... I feel like I have the flu w/ severe facial pain.

You can't MAKE a doctor order a bone scan.... but today my family doc did order an infectious blood test? Blood taken from both arms to culture?? I don't know if this would show osteomylitis.

Can anyone help me?? I do have fibromyalgia- but I don't understand why I have this facial pressure now- and confusion etc.... and again it actually began w/ ear pain in November..... The ENT says I am okay-- but she just ordered the balance test.......

So--- where do you go from here?? I am EXHAUSTED from all of this.

Thank you-

Kittykins
