Hi, I just joined this group. My name is Anna and I live in Indiana. I suffer from FMS/CFS and 2 herniated disks. I also have other health problems but only listing the ones concerning chronic pain. I was just one wondering if anyone else in this group is from Indiana? I have found it very difficult to find a Dr. to treat these conditions here. I have tried pain clinics.....but I am on a fixed income and can't afford to go to so many Dr's. I wish I could find one Dr. to treat me for everything! For now I have given up and just suffer but it is taking it's toll.
If anyone else out there from Indiana or anywhere has any suggestions please let me know. |

Welcome to Neuro Talk. I am sorry you are having back issues. If anyone is around your area, they will post. I do have a suggestion. I know Illinois is a bit of a drive, but not that far. Seek a teaching hospital. I am very much in favor of seeking treatment and DX in teaching hospitals. Loyola University center is where my father went. He got the very best of care and DX.
This is in Illinois. Seek multipal opinions. I had no health insurance, and I did ask the doctors who did not accept no insurance people, if they would please see me. The local community center where you live may have ideas of where to go to seek help. I know this is not easy on a fixed income, but it can be done. It takes a great deal of effort, and asking those doctors, if they would please accept you. There are organizations within local hospitals advocasy programs that may give you some direction too. I sure hope you can find the help you need. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie |
