Default Chiari Malformation Surgery next week....

Hi I have been told that I have Chiara Malformation and that I need to have brain surgery this coming Monday June 3. I am not worried to much right now. But I am a little worried about afterwards. Will I be sent to intensive care or will I go to a regular room? How will I be able to lay on my head if they are cutting 8 inches across the back of my head? How long will it normally take for me to even realize that I have a vistor? I know this is a lot of questions all at once but as you can see I am limited on time here! Less than a week and I was just told this last week. I think I am a little in shock actually, this is huge not some small normal short procedure that I don't have to worry about much. I know that everyone is different and will heal and have different symptom's etc but is there anyone out there who has had this and can maybe shed a little light on what I might can expect. Not facts just thoughts and maybe how your experience turned out after you had this? Thanks in advance.
