Hello everyone! This is my first time posting. I am 35 years old was recently diasnosed with CIDP about a year ago. At the same time I found out I was pregnant with my first child so this has been a very difficult time for me for a lot of reasons.
My symptoms with CIDP are weakness in the arms, neck and legs. I am still able to get around on my own and to take care of the baby without help. My neurologist originally thought I had ALS, but I seem to be responding to IVIG therapy and my weakness has been progressing very slowly for the past 4/5 years. I've been on IVIG for 6 months now, once every two weeks. It's very fruatrating not being able to get around as well as I used to and I feel like I am starting to avoid leaving my house now as a result. I thought this might be a good time to start talking with a community of people that share the same experiences as me. As you know, it can be lonely some times when there is no one around going through any of the difficulties you are experiencing. |

--come on over to the peripheral neuropathy forum:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20 --there are at least two CIDP sufferers over there (one who is on IVIg), and others with "idiopathic" diagnoses that have tried that therapy, who can share with you. And, you'll learn a lot just looking through the useful websites section at the top, and through the other postings. |
