My neurologist started me on 225 mg of Lyrica on Friday 5/4/07. I took it 75 mg that night and then 75 3 times a day since. I feel euphoric and most of the chronic pain is gone. I have read the posts re sides and am very concerned because I also have cognitive impairmenet from 2 closed head injuries, the most recent on 1/18/07.

Thanks for the info. I have trigeminal neuropathic pain (from injury) and I'm becoming intolerant to Neurontin 1200 mg. per day. My MD mentioned Lyrica so I think I'll give it a try. Janet

Hi Janet, I am from east Tennessee also. I haven't lived there for a very long time though.
I take Lyrica 75mg 3x daily and it does not seem to help my burning feet and legs much. I was on Neurontin for over a year with no relief. I underwent some surgical pain relief procedures but they did not help much. I have been diagnosed with non diabetic neuropathy by a well know neurologist, with benign fascisculations. Both came on at the same time....after a marathon session on this computer. This started July 2005, sudden and acute and now chronic. I have most pain when sitting and my tailbone is always painful. Is there any relation to burning feet? (doc says no) Are the docs ever wrong? I get the most relief from my hot pad! My feet feel icy cold to the touch but the burning sensation is constant. Lyrica does not seem to help all the much either. Lyrica does not make me as "spacey" as the neurontin. I also take Klonipin and desiprimate at night. I have no pain or burning at night so my sleep is not affected. I would like to see any comments/suggestions.... and HI you'all! |
