Hi,

I understand getting the help one needs to get a dx is so frustrating I am in similar situation and its starting to wear me out, if I did not have a few good friends that keep listening to my rants and encouraging me to stay positive, I would just give up.

I am going to keep trying. I have this gut feeling I know what's wrong with me but I refuse to even take it into consideration. I'm just hoping in time i will start feeling like myself again.

Dear Dr. Smith,

Good advice. I was told 13 years ago to have back surgery for a herniation or bulging lumbar disc problem. Had an MRI last month that showed no lumbar bulge but now I have a thoracic disc problem. I would have had surgery for nothing. The problem healed on its own. I am hoping my new thoracic one will, too. At least this time, no one is suggesting surgery, thank goodness.

I'd have to look up how many years it's been (~10 I think) but my doc advised against surgery, and told me that in time, the body does heal itself. I think this has happened, but with DDD, it goes both ways; some things have gotten better, while others have gotten worse. Last time I saw him, he suggested getting updated imaging to see where I am/what's going on. I just haven't gotten around to it. :o

Don't Ever Give Up Sweety

Hi Mag,
Im new to this site and Im sorry I don't have any answers for you.
Except-
That deep down inside we all have incredible strength that we don't know about. It's so hard to "pigeon hole" your pain when it's right there in your face 24/7. But when we draw on that strength and look after our emotional pain which comes with physical pain then sometimes we can breathe easier and if only for a short while be able to focus on something else other than the horrendous pain we know so well. I hope and pray that you get some answers and relief as quickly as possible. Be good to you:hug:

My mother complained to her doctor about her leg pain and was dismissed over and over. Finally I went with her to her doc and DEMANDED that he listen to her complaint. He finally ordered tests that showed she had severe claudication in her legs due to a greater than 90% blockage of blood flow from the aorta to the femoral branches.

It took 20 years for me to get a dx for my nerve pain.

I now know that we have to be our own advocate and also demand to be heard and not simply dismissed.
