Confused New to neuro talk

Was hoping to find out a little more info about the experience some of you have had with the trail of scs devices and the implants. My doc has set me up with a referral to another specialist I'm supposed to see in sept. The reason for that is my insurance would not cover any of it if my original pain management was to do the procedure. I would like to correspond with anyone that might have had a trail recently with a medtronics scs for the lower lumbar and legs. I was a long haul truck driver for many years till I was hurt on the job an placed on disability and told I would never be able to drive truck again. The pain I have has really effected my family my littlest one is 6 going on 7 in oct. She come to me the other day and asked me why I am not able to get down on the floor and play with her like she has seen me do in pictures with her much older siblings? I had to try and explain to her that daddy was hurt an it is really painful for me to do that anymore. I have had 2 surgeries to L4-L5 -S1 after the second one I did not bounce back as fast as I did with the first surgery. Doc's told me it all would take some time seeing they had to go through the scar tissue from my first surgery.
Anyway to make a long story short pain is unbearable some days the oral meds just make it so I'm sleepy but never really seem to help much with the pain anymore. I'm hoping this consult with the new doc doesn't want to start from scratch because I can not go through all that testing again with nerve testing and the injections the therapy that seems to make it even worse. I've done a lot of research on the device my doc suggested but I haven't done much on the leads verses the paddles . Hopefully some of you can help with your experiences and the journeys you have endured . Thanks and look forward to chatting with you .

Default saffy

Thank you Saffy I think it's hard for people to find good info on scs devices. Don't get me wrong theres a lot of info and good info out there but not a lot about personal experiences or the journey you have to go through to get one or to get some type of relief at times from the pain. Again thank you so much for commenting on here .
