Default numbness in both legs and feet: not diabetic

Hello,
I'm looking for any advice, ideas, support...whatever! :-) I have a doctor its just taking a long time so I'm not asking for a diagnosis, just really, really, need some help ok, so almost a month ago I suddenly felt tingling in my feet and legs, just out of the blue! I right it would pass but it's STILL going on. Constant and in both legs and feet (although one side more than the other). Ive neglected to go to the doctors for awhile due to insurance issues. I got scared and went to the ER since I didn't have a family doctor. They have me blood tests thinking that I may have diabetic neuropathy? (Which my father has so I'm familiar with it). My glucose was 80 and ALL the other blood work, res and error blood cells, potassium, and so on, were ALL normal. I found a doctor and went to get checked out there. Ran tests for rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol, thyroid (t4 & tsh), ANA screen.....everything came back normal, except for my b12 which was a lil higher than standard range at 966. Im 35 years old, never had a head or back injury and no other symptoms besides fatigue. I'm just so confused at to what this could be going on in my legs. No pain just extreme numbness and tingling, constantly. I also have an EMG scheduled for next time next week. I'm just hoping maybe someone could shed some light on this, or maybe someone else has been through this too?? Just feeling helpless and confused. Thank you all

Hi, I was doing a search for someone else on vitamins for nerve pain and found this link. It's very thorough and goes into all the many causes of nerve damage and pain. Drugs are listed there and for me, it was nerve damage from a hip replacement in 2010. I still have the nerve numbness but burning and tingling are gone due to 2 supplements I found about 3 months ago. Sphingolin and Inosine. Here's the thorough link.

A friend has taken statins for 30 yrs and she deals with major neuropathy..doctors told her idopathic and she now realizes the cause = statins. Hopefully this info can help you.

I also have the tingling in feet and knees and bum - through NHS in UK had full range of tests including MRI. They found an acoustic neuroma which they have now zapped. They assure me the neuroma has nothing to do with my tingling. But none of the tests shed any light on my tingling which was affecting my mobility as my feet became painful and sleeping was really difficult as everything including cotton, linen and silk bedding were annoying. So I tried a variety of things and in the end found the symptoms can be much reduced by wrapping my feet in clingfilm (plastic wrap). Do try it and let me know how you get on. I now wear it 24/7 except when showering and swimming. It really makes a difference. I can walk much further and can sleep!

Hello and welcome,

Since your symptoms came on suddenly you may also consider getting your spine looked at to rule out any radiculopathy. A spine surgeon could this and order an MRI for you just to be safe.

I hope you find answers soon,
