Confused Is this TN?

I think I have trigeminal neuralgia started around the 4th of July week... it's kinda a blur, the 1st couple of weeks were the worst. I did not walk... but ran to my dentist (since I was just in for cleaning and minor filling) just a couple weeks before, and the pain was horrible and was (i thought) coming from the lower right side of my jaw where I had a root canal last year. He found nothing, gave some pain medication and said to call back after the weekend and he would call in Rx for antibiotics if I was still in pain (I was and got the antibiotic); before another week pasted I was calling him back for more pain medication; he said ok but that was all he could do (go see my MD). Within a couple days I was at my internal MD's office and telling him I was sure this was TN.

Hi and welcome. What did your doctor think? I had an episode of TN several years back. I also went to the dentist, who found nothing dentally amiss. My doctor referred me to a neurologist, but it went away after a few days and I canceled the appointment. I hope it doesn't come back. And I hope yours goes away.

We do have a forum specific to TN if you haven't found it yet. Here's the link: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum26.html
