Default First Post....happy to find such a place

Hi Folks,

Found you all by accident, but may be more of a blessing....not sure how the site all works, but hopefully will figure it out as I go.

While I don't have an exact extent of my diagnosis, seems I have Osteoartritis in my C4,5, 6 neck...areas... also have some in my hip, but that hasn't caused to much problem of late... my neck has gotten very painful over hte last two months, it's bothered me for a while, and I always just kinda sucked it up...I have a very physical job, and have always been very strong and durable for a female, so right now it's difficult to be on a no lifting, no pulling rule...acutally can't seem to do anything without pain, everything I do seems to invovle moving my neck...pain is usually sitting around 7 on a good day, increases with activity or fatique..burning, aching...

I had an MRI yesterday, results should be to the Doc. on Monday, that will determing if work (Worker Compenstation Board) will cover my treatment or missed time.. so extra stress in that area too...also just was told last week that my cholesterol was very high, and to change everything about my eatting and activity lifestyle to avoid medication...well I already take anti-depressants, which have worked well for the past 3 years, but with all the frustration and stress of this pain...they aren't holding up very well right now...

So there, enough whining for now...just looking for some advice on trying to find the positives, when every direction I turn brings on negitives..and unknows ....

Thanks...

Oh, goody, I get to be the first one to welcome you. Always assuming someone else doesn't post before I get this typed and posted.
You'll find the site very easy to navigate, and very helpful and supportive. You might like to check out the arthritis forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=86
Or maybe the chronic pain forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10
Hugs,
