Question I have neuropathy

I am an otherwise healthy, 80 year old physician. I am not diabetic. Numbness began in my left toes and gradually spread over my feet and up my legs. There is some burning of the feet, but not too severe. At times I can barely identify my own feet due to numbness. I have had a thorough and comprehensive neurological work-up. All my blood panels are normal. There has been no real answer nor a treatment. I wish to know the cause and to know if anyone has had cold laser therapy and has it worked?? Thank you. BHL

Default Welcome Bruce :)

I'm fairly new here too but wanted to tell you that you've come to the right place. So many nice people on here with so much information. You will probably have to provide more test info for them to be able to help you.

I have small fiber neuropathy of the feet....diagnosed via skin punch biopsy. They attribute it to my high A1C and then 6 rounds of chemo (carbo/taxol).

Numbness, electrical shocks, burning and I could go on and on. Mine ebbs and flows all day long. I am currently on 1800 mg of gabapentin (neurotin) but raised today to 2700 mg by my neuro.

Nice to meet you and you will be getting responses on here from people much more knowledgeable than me.

Debi from Georgia
