Default Hit the "trifecta"?

Hi everyone.

Took the same handle as I have in my sailing related forum, as I like to sail my sailboat on Lake Superior when I'm feeling well enough.

As for the title, I've suffered Bipolar Affective Disorder for many years (Dx'd back in early 1997) and with two more new nerve related medical issues.....it's almost too much to bear. I'm treatment resistive, Bipolar Affective Disorder type one and ultra rapid cycling with some "fun" Schezophrenic features just to make it interesting.

Recently, I've started having more petite mal seizures and absence seizures so my Neurologist sent me to MINCEP epilepsy center in Minneapolis, MN., to find out what is going on. BTW, this epilepsy is a fairly new development and the worst part is when they pull your driving priveledge. Specially when you have to walk to your doctor's office over a mile away and it's -12F outside!

After my first video EEG and during my initial consult with my Epileptologist, she discovered I also have some kind of peripheral neuropathy in my feet with reduced feeling and related balance issues. So, at this point, I do not know exactly what kind of neuropathy I have, but the up to ten days testing scheduled starting January 2nd in hospital should give me an idea what I'm dealing with for both new (to me) maladies.

I'm a bit overwhelmed but I'm trying to stay positive. I've read enough of this forum to find it a good place to learn about PN from people that deal with it daily, so I'm hopeful to find a lot of answers to my many questions.

Thanks.

Hi there. My name is Melody. I just wanted to stop by and say Howdy and Welcome.

You go sailing? That's cool. I grew up with a dad who liked to own boats (we had 16 foot cabin cruiser named the Melissy). I will never forget sitting on the tip of the boat as we used to take in the sunset in the evenings.

Great memories.

Then, when we got back into dock, I remember hosing off the boat, putting the tarp on (oh my god, it just all came back).

My father also built a boat (that only carried him). I never got to use it myself, I was too young. But I just remembered it was a hydroplane. He named it the Sea Squirt. My goodness, the memories.

Thanks for taking me back 60 or so years. lol

Melody
