Default Hi, I live with Parkinson's Disease.

54 year old single, gay man who first noticed his left arm stopped swinging in the Summer of 2012, but was not diagnosed until the Summer of 2011.
Started on ropinirole. Lost use of my left hand to type or carry a glass of water without pouring it out.
Had athroscopic shoulder surgery from a good specialist who 'couldn't believe you have Parkinson's' in Oct 2011. Since ropinirole wasn't working, went off of this and all parkinson's med. Returned to work Jan 3. madication free. Tremor and twisting of left arm, shuffling gait, poor balance. Eventually put the Jeep in a yard and went on STD Feb, 28, 2013. Long term disability (SSI) approved in Sept of 2013.

In Feb 13, started levo'carbo'comtam cocktail. 100mg 3x day, now up to 200mg 3x day. Took Azilect but went off of it two weeks ago as I was hyperkenetic. Take effexor for mood and bad gambling compulsion. Levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. Folbic acid, folic acid, dhea and vitamin d round out my pill regime.

Consulting Wash University June 14, regarding DBS caindidacy.

Moved to a small duplex two weeks ago after spending much time with my mom, during both the surgeery rehab and for the months I couldn't drive.

Somedays I'm going to do my best to make the most of life with P. Other ays I fantasize about freeing myself from this mortal coil.

Tremor persistent in left hand with dyskenesia in both left arm and foot. Every so often my right hand shakes or my left foot does a twitch or five.

I'd really like to live in a place with a support group, but there is non here in Fort Smith, AR. Neurologists are swamped. I suspect high burnout in the field.
