Default chronic back pain migrane sufferer. looking for friends that have the neurostimulator

Hi I am 42 female. I have been dealing with chronic backpain for 20 years. After two failed surgeries I had the neurostimlator put in my back in Nov. it worked for a very short time then the leads migrated. I am going to have the "paddle" put in on march 4th because it is more stable. I am very scared because the doctor has said its a very hard surgery to recover from pain wise. Anyone that can help me with what to expect.

Hi there, pleased to meet you. I'm 52, pain for 30+years, 4 spinal fusions and loads of procedures later incl trialled and permanent SCS in December 2013 and I also now have to have the paddle done at some stage as the lead I have is failing. There is a clip on YouTube zede26 I think, or may go by the name Gabe. Has had a number of procedures done and is just recovering from another recently. He says the paddle is the worst he has had so I can totally relate to your fears.

You will find a number of us spinal cord stimulator recipients in the SCS stimulator section, each of us with our own unique circumstances, recoveries, good and bad experiences. Fear not, nothing will deter us as we all embrace this journey we are on towards a painfree or lesser pain lifestyle. It is frightening, but, any procedure on ourselves is frightening, sometimes I think we've had so many we can become blasé.

You will meet some extraordinary survivors here on NT.
