Heart Dysexecutive Syndrome

Hello NT'ers. I am married to a 67 year old man who has DES. His injury occurred when he was five, and he is only now in the process of being diagnosed.

I believe his condition to be severely problematic for him. He has struggled with addiction to various things throughout his life (currently 27 years sober from drugs and alcohol) and he seems unable to tell the truth when put in a situation which calls his judgment (generally poor) into question. I've been with him 15 years, so I am accustomed to it, and understand him much better now since I've learned his condition is neurological, and not simply a function of him being a bad person...He has a job, has held one for many years, but his interpersonal relationships are really messy and difficult. Anyone else out there with this condition? Know anything about it? Thanks so much.
