Default Hi There-- Trying to live a normal life with MS

Hello Everyone:

I've surfed the message boards previously from time to time, but just now decided to officially join. I was dx'd with MS on July 25, 2013. However, I suffered my first onset attack back in June of 2010 with numerous flare up's in between. I went through numerous neuro's to find one that would actually listen to me and help with a diagnosis. I finally have found a fantastic doctor who is aiding my in my MS journey.

I started Copaxone in November of 2013 and have unfortunately had flare up symptoms the entire time on Copaxone. Currently I'm suffering from my first bout of Optic Neuritis and it's a little scary. I go in for an MRI in two weeks to evaluate my lesions. I would like to stay on Copaxone, but my doctor does not seem to think it's very effective for me. I've tested positive for the JC virus and my numbers are quite high. I'd like to try Tysabri, and my doc would like to get my on the meds as well, but I'm a little hesitant due to my range of the JC virus.

Anyways, I've rambled on. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community and speaking with others who are trying their best to live as normal as possible with MS.

-Jess
