Default Greetings and Salutations!

Hello everyone,

My name's Thomas. I'm 33 and live in Atlanta, GA. In November of 2013 it was discovered that I had degeneration in my C4, C5, and C6 regions. Radiculopathy of C6 was also discovered using EMG. Thus has been giving he horrific pain in my left arm, especially my bicep. It's also given me severe migraines as well, and has led me into the realm of dysthymia.

I have had two injections, and neither worked. I've been doing some traction as well, but I've decided surgery is the best option, so I will be getting a two or three level ACDF on March 26th.

I'm a professional statistician and work as director of research at a non-profit psychiatric rehabilitation center. I'm sure there might be a positive association between hunching over my desk to crunch numbers and my current condition...

In my spare time I compose music. Some of my favorite bands are Over the Rhine, Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin, etc.

My partner and I have one child, a little furball named Cassie, who is an expert at getting what she wants, all the time...

Some of the stories and experiences I've read are simply wonderful. In some respects I am at both ends of the field in regards to providing mental health services while also using them, in addition to physical therapy for my chronic pain. I hope to share stories and experiences with others. I'm glad to be here!

-Thomas

Smile Hello Thomas!

Welcome!
Thanks for the introduction! I'm so sorry you suffer this pain. sure does get in the way of an active life doesn't it.
Well you just make yourself right at home ya hear?
There's plenty of great support and also a lot of information, especially at the top of most of the forums - called the 'stickie' sections.

It's nice to have you, I'll be seeing you around the forums Thomas!

Caring,
Rae
