Smile Hello RD!

Welcome to NT!

Yep, you've sure come to the right place! No shortage of chronic pain sufferers here .
Darlene has pointed you to a forum to get you started. Depending on what type of pain you suffer, there is a separate forum for each. There's even a forum regarding 'medications'. So, make yourself right at home, post where you feel inclined. it'll be nice getting to know you.

Caring
Rae

Hi Dan,
Welcome...I am also a long time pain patient and agree that you learn new things all the time. Only yesterday, I learned my Vit D levels were so low, my doc said it made my pain worse. I had NO idea that Vit D affected pain levels.

Do come hang out at the Chronic Pain Forum and share what you know. I am sure you could teach us all a thing or two.
Glad you joined.....Diandra

That sure is a lot to be dealing with and a lot to just sort out. I hope you do find a new online family here. I know when I joined, I think originally it was 10 yrs ago, I was feeling pretty isolated from the rest of the world and feeling kind of sorry for myself. After to listening to all the stories of what so many pain
patients had been through it sure made me feel less alone....I have made some very good friends along the way as well.

If you have been a pain patient for 30 yrs, have you seen big strides or advances in pain management? I recalling thinking, when my primary care doc referred me to a pain mgmt specialist 10 yrs, wow....I didn't even know such a specialty existed. I was aware of the pain meds available to cancer patients or dying patients but I never realized I would be "allowed" to take pain medication every day. I honestly was in a very bad place pain wise and not finding much to live for and I was astounded at how much I was helped.

Hope things are getting better after the divorce and all the crap you had to go through. I am sorry that happened to you. I hope family and friends for support but there are always all the various forums here, emotional support, grief support and the one with funny jokes and stories helps alot too. Do come hang put at the chronic pain forum....lots of help always needed there. All my best, Diandra....

.if you feel shy or maybe have a question you want to ask to just one person are not sure there are things you want to share with everyone you can always private message me or anyone...everyone I have ever met here is very nice.
You can also ask questions directly to the moderators and I think those questions are private.

Wink Nice People have rights!!!!!

High! I just wanted to say that I am extermly happy with all the good vibes and greetings since i joined this great site! I have been back to see my doctor twice since my last post.He started me on Fentanyl 50 mcgs and M.S.I.R (and Valium which i have been on 44 years)The m.S.I.R. 30s went in 8 days and my doctor knowing my story did not give me a lecture, but filled my Valium or Diazepam,do not think I would pay $895.00 for brand! And kept me at 50 mcgs of Fentanyl as it is working great.Years ago i went to 75mcgs but i was hallucinating and i had plenty of that working for The Grateful dead as a videograph Cameraman for over 20 years! So i asked to go back to Oxycodone 15 mgs as 30 mgs raise a "flag" so twice as many 15 mgs do not(so stupid) as i told my doctor i never abuse my medication as i got in a wee bit of trouble years ago in a far away land for having a few doctors, but hip and foot operations and trigger point injections and no real pain clinics yet,it was "shared negligence" I think that there should be a organization for patients rights!Everybody that reads this should know that most every state has a "Patients Bill Of Rights!" and mine has been brought out and put in front of my doctor and he abides by it.Its time to stand up and say"I am as mad as hell and i am still in Pain!"and have your doctors acknowledge this and prescribe enough of the correct medicine without fear of being thought of as a "drug Seeking person!"I am 57 and have long hair down past my mid back and a Neil Young eyebrow thing going on. Peace to all And thank you ,however i am a Man of Peace! And after reading so many real nice posts i like it here and hope to show and teach half as much as I have learned here!
