As I feared the memory of the amnesic episode faded. I asked him if he spoke to the doctor yet, after he had the episode he was really clear and freaked out, knowing what he was saying and very insisting he needed the doctor.

Today he is back in the fog. He claims he talked to the doc and showed him "the list of questions" (there is no such list). He said "my question" was on the list (there is no "my question", he just wanted off the statin and not having to experience more of those scary attacks). When I asked what the questions were he said "Oh I don't have the list here right now". When I asked what the doc had said he said "The doctor will look into it". Look into what? He doesn't know. And I'm positive he never communicated with the doctor. He just guesses and tries to give me answers, but in reality he's just confabulating.

I wonder if it is OK to break off the friendship at this point. As his last friend in life. He will have no idea why that happened. It seems so cruel. But I'm really worn down, he keeps "promising" things on good days and then it just fades. The worse he is getting, the more help does he get from government, it seems like no one is looking into his ill health, they just assume that this is incurable, lets throw help at him. He has an aid coming home to him almost full time and does everything for him. He gets the help because he has mobility issues but in reality the aid is also thinking for him. It's sort of a big coverup. I want this insanity to stop, but I feel I have everything working against me.

IMO, this is as cruel as murdering a patient. But they seem to get away with it.

Not usually prone to conspiracies but it's like they want people to get sick and die.

Heart disease is real and scary, and that fear is easily used to make people take a poison. I'm just waiting for the day when my doc will try to push it on me. I'm going to be so angry.

I just had a simple swab test done called a CYP450. I always wondered why Vicodin made me hyper instead of sleepy. It was 12 pages of how my body reacts to drugs. There was a DANGER icon right next to Statins. Wish my doc would have given me that test before I tried it. I now have permanent damage to my left arm (shoulder to elbow). It hurts like heck especially at night when Im trying to rest. When I try to change positions I have to take my right arm to move my left arm. Hubby says I moan at night...not in a good way. lol
My opinion is Statins are a poison. Millions are taking it. There are alternatives. No flush Niacin and Chia seeds are great, lowered my cholesterol over 30 points.
Another thing that makes me mad is...Is there a registry or list of all the people who are damaged? Did my doc tell anyone? Yet it is prescribed every day. Some people can be on it for years before being effected and some have no probs. Ive known over 5 people who told me they were having muscle pain. I asked "Are you taking a statin?" All said yes, I told them to stop. Lucky for them their pains stopped. Mine didnt. They thanked me a million times.

take care David

I can imagine. England has Merck's first statin, Lovastatin over the counter you know. They approved its sale several years ago without a doctor's order.

The FDA here has failed to approve still the same drug, at least 2 times now (maybe 3). I have lost count. I find that rather revealing that they "know" how toxic statins are, and are not putting them OTC.

Just recently Flonase (and last year Nasacort), both steroid nasal inhalers, have gone OTC in US. But not the statins!

And there are rumors that some Birth Control pills may become available here OTC as well soon. But not the statins!

There is a statin OTC? What? That is insane.

It reminds me of when pharmacies sold different poisons which of some were said to help certain illnesses, like arsenic. How on earth can something like that be OTC???

Friend developed yet a symptom. I'm starting to wonder if he really has dementia because he is so lost now I wonder how he can function at all. I mean he has a carer that helps him a set number of hours a day and he doesn't like the outside which I guess is good or he would just walk off and get lost.

He still pretends he has memory of some things I said, like the day before or 2 hours before. He thinks he is good at faking. But it's just sad. Makes me want to go to his country and bap him over the head!

But then I remember the other neuro symptoms and I assume they don't follow dementia? I'm not sure actually. He has falls, muscle weakness, neuropathy (even though he had it before too some due to diabetes), foot drop on both feet, a few cases of TGA, strong irritability (that is not "like him"), sleep problems, swelling of both ankles and now he also developed difficulty swallowing. To the point he nearly choked to death the other day.

I asked him a few days later if it happened again but he doesn't recall choking anymore.

He's never been tested for any CYP but he takes other meds and I'm unsure which of them also use the same enzymes, which I assume could be problematic and shoot up side effect of statins. There are many drug interaction checkers out there, anyone know if one tells you the pathways and enzymes so I get that info?

Meanwhile I guess if he falls to his death and chokes he will never be in the heart death statistics which will be a great thing for statin statistics.

I didn't read the whole thread here but have known for a LONG time of the cholesterol myth, there are books written on this. Weston Price Foundation has discussed this for years and have done indepth research on this cholesterol issue. We need cholesterol and pharma needs us to be on their drugs....they NEED us to not be Smart and informed...sad
