Default Tired

I was diagnosed with diabetes, then with a broken vertebrae, herniated disc, and my L5 off track. I'm in constant pain with my diabetic neuropathy. A few days ago I had labs done and now they think I have Rheumatoid arthritis, I'm in so much pain I don't know what to do. I over dosed 8 months ago obviously it didn't work. Is there anyone that can offer some suggestions?

Hi Marcia,
First, welcome to these forums. I have chronic pain also and I found this site 10 yrs ago and always get a lot of support and advice.

Have you been to a pain mgmt doctor? I find when a regular primary care doc tries to manage your pain, they under medicate you( as a rule, not always). My primary care doc said my pain was more than he could handle and he was not comfortable giving me the dosages of meds I needed so referred me to a pain doc and I feel like he saved my life.

Also, go over to the Chronic pain forum and ask specific questions. For neuropathy issues many people get scripted Neurontin or Lyrica.
I personally have found my pain doc has me take a "cocktail" of drugs and treatments that I can manage as I need...by that I mean, opiates, nerve pain meds, muscle relaxers, sleep meds, tranquilizers and massage, aqua therapy, chiro, acupuncture, physical therapy, ice packs, heat packs and injections like ESI's and facet joint, etc.

It is easy to get despondent when the pain is not controlled. Find a doc to help you and try all kinds of modalities. Only recently my pain doc sent me to a doc who does combo chiro, massage, acupuncture, cupping and percussive massage...I had never had this before and it helped a bit.

I wish you the best,
Diandra
