Default Hi, Glad to find this group, I am scared - awaiting neuro appt next Monday

Hello, my name is Meg. I have been "sick" since January 2011. I had been a vegetarian for the 7.5 years prior, but had to start eating meat when I got sick. The gastroenterologist thought I had crohns. I had a full battery of tests. Another GI found Celiac last year. I have had a whole host of other issues. Migraines, TMJ, arthritis, plantar tendon release surgeries, and tendon lengthening in my calves, several abdominal surgeries to correct gynecologic problems (nothing left now so I am in menopause at 37), asthma, diabetes, problems with dry cough and regurgitation into my throat, a voice that cracks and goes nearly away from time to time....and through it all I told my doctors I had neuropathy pains. I finally have an internist that tested for it, and in April I found out I have polyneuropathy. The doc that performed the test thinks it is my diabetes. My doc does not agree. I have a second opinion appointment Monday at 9 AM.

Last week I had severe ulnar nerve pain, today I am having muscle twitches in that arm.

I saw my podiatrist about 10 days ago for pain in my heel preventing me from walking easily. She ended up giving me a shot in the nerve that comes off the leg, dorsal something or other. This is back, and now the pain is all the way up my leg into the groin. And my low back is really aching something fierce. She asked if I was working, so I guess she thinks I am worse than I do. I told her I think it's MS. She did not disagree. I told my doc that twice, and he has never disagreed. My diabetes has always been fine, just barely diabetic on the charts. I was diagnosed 2 years ago, long after the neuropathy pains started. I am not on any meds, nor have I ever been.

Anyway, I hope someone here understands a little of this and my be able to relate. I am floundering and the pain is worse. This is not the Meg I have known, and I want her back. I am giving up on being strong. I can't fight this right now, I don't have enough energy. I stayed home from work yesterday because making one meal Sunday for my dad tired me out. I couldn't even think about getting a shower and doing my hair without feeling sick. Today, I felt sick from doing that, but I made it in to work. I want to go home though. I will be going home and going to bed tonight, just feel awful.

I am on gabapentin, started at 1200 mgs and am now on 2400 mgs.

Thanks in advance,

Meg
