Hello have never done this before, but I sure do need to talk with people who are or have experienced the things I'm going through or can assist in some questions I have from their experience.
About me, I was in a car accident in 1975 at age 14 with no medical assistance. I had a laminectomy 1988 another in1991, spinal fusion in 1993, which took over 10 hours and had to be redone in 1995. Had a SCS put in in 2003, battery replaced in 2008 and whole unit replaced in 2010. I never received the right coverage from the last stimulator. I have had many injections and medications. Suffered from a deep severe pain in my lower left back/buttock area that Pain Management Dr. finally diagnosed as SI joint pain. Started receiving cool wave radio frequency ablations which help tremendously with the deep pain. Unfortunately I still continue to have severe left butt pain which radiates to the left foot. PM says this is fpiriformis syndrome. Presently doing PT for this. Had SCS taken out by my neurosurgeon on 6/16/2014 as it was not doing anything for me. NS says my pain is still from the SI joint (sacroiliitis)which is causing the joint and the piriformis muscle to inflame and suggest I get a procedure called Si-lok-Sacroiliac Joint Fixation. it requires getting 3or4 titanium alloy implants to fuse the joint. I have been dealing with the pain for 2/3 of my life and it is starting to get real frustrating to deal with as I get older. My questions are does anyone get the radio frequency done and if so do they have any problems associated from this procedure and anyone know anything about the si-lok surgery. |
