Default Ophthalmic carotid aneurysm

Hello. I'm a 61 year old female in relatively good health. I had a TIA scare a week ago. The MRI that ruled out TIA/stroke gave us a freebie: an unruptured, 3mm aneurysm showed up. It's on the ophthalmic carotid extension near the optic nerve. I have a follow up Wed morning with the attending neurologist at our local hospital, and will get a referral for a neurologist and/or neuroradiologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis to determine treatment. He mentioned coil, which I knew nothing about until I gave myself a 5th grade education on anatomy, aneurysms and their treatment.

Anyone with this type of aneurysm? Share your experience? How was your recovery time and have you have recurrence?

Thank you.
Dinah

Hi Dinah,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

I'm sorry to read that you're dealing with this aneurysm.
It's good that it was found at least.

Try posting over on the
Aneurysm Forum

I'm sure some of the members there will be able to offer you some information and support.

There are also the "Sticky" threads right at the top of the forum that contain information posts and useful sites.

all the best to you.
