Default New here. DDD cervical and lumbar.... pain pain pain

Hello All,

I'm new here. I've had this disease for many many years. Just trying to maintain pain control and sanity. I wished I could be me again. My back surgeon told me to live with the pain as long as I can. I have epidural steroid injections, getting nerve burns done which does help my lower back.

My main concern is my neck. Nothing helps. Did PT for 12 weeks, shots, nerve burns to no avail. I have headaches everyday. Nothing helps. I'm so exhausted from them and I'm about to cut my head off. I've used TENS, ice and heat. Is there anything else that might help these 'head' headaches?

Basically from C3 to C7 I have facet arthropathy, broad based disc osteopyte, bilateral spurring, blah blah.

Thanks,
Tracy

Hi Tracy, welcome.

Here are links to the Spinal Disorders & Back Pain and Chronic Pain forums.

I have basically the same as you—both ends of the spine. PT has helped me some in controlling/defeating the headaches—chin tucks in particular. We also do (with DW's help) daily myofascial triggerpoint therapy for same.

I get and agree the headaches are the worst, cuz they occur where we live—in our heads. If I can avoid those, I can usually cope/deal with the rest with different forms of diversion therapy.

Best wishes,

Doc
