Frown New diagnosis for partner!

Hi My name is Trish!
My partner was just diagnosed with MG 2 weeks ago. There was slight signs but we never really thought much of it. Within 7 months I thought he was having a stroke and low and behold it is MG. He was put on Mestinon and the dosages kept increasing. He is now in the hospital and they started him on 80mg of prednisone. Neuro wants to monitor him because the dosage is so high. He almost died 2xs from choking. He cant even swallow his own saliva. I am writing because I'm scared for him. I lost a husband 7 years ago with a massive brain anyurism in bed beside me. I cannot lose another.

So in the short of it all. How does pred. really help?
