Default Hi everyone, first time here

I am here because I was just diagnosed with a csf leak coming from my left ear, the fluid is not your normal water like substance, it is more like a gel, I usually have to clean out my ear a couple times a day as it fills up. The ENT I saw said that he would have to do a spinal tap with dye to locate the leak and then open up the back of my head, lift up mt\y brain and patch the leak. This sounds a little drastic to me, I have read that they can cut behind the ear to fix csf leaks from the ear, has anyone heard of this problem or the procedure to patch it?
