Default Spinal accessory nerve injury

Hi cattle dog! I'm new here but just did a search myself to see if there was anyone out there who has the same injury as me!
Here is my story...

Hello!
I am SO incredibly happy to have found this community & others who are in a similar situation to me - I didn't think I would ever find such a place!!
I live in Australia and my injury was a severed spinal accessory nerve, which occurred during a routine 2-pass 16 gauge cervical lymph node core biopsy in October 2012.
In January 2013 I had a surgical repair (glue & stitch) of the neuroma which was unsuccessful.
I have CRPS, left shoulder weakness, left arm abduction of only 20-30 degrees, trapezius muscle wastage, head/neck/shoulder/arm nerve pain 24/7.
Am currently taking Lyrica, Targin and Oxynorm along with paracetamol and am also in counselling with antidepressants starting today.
My case is going to court at some stage in my life!!
I was told today that I have a permanent disability with no chance of recovery.
The last specialist I saw for a medico-legal opinion suggested the Eden-Lange Procedure for me and I am only just researching it now - it's all SO scary I don't really know what I'm doing.
Thank you for listening, I really am so emotional to have found you all and I hope that there are others of you like me out there that I can talk with and find out more about your treatments and possible help for myself along the way.
Thank you so much!
Princessmorticia [Sarah]

At the moment I am over 2yrs post-injury and am permanently injured. I wear a sling & take copious amounts of medication to try & combat my pain. I'm a celebrant and a mum of 2 and am finding it all a bit too hard at the moment!
How are you going???
Sarah

I'm a mom of 2 and have also suffered a spinal accessory injury from a cervical lymph node biopsy. I would love to chat.

Default C5 Palsy

Hello ,
I started kf with shoulder dislocation followed by rotary cuff surgery to repair full thicknesses tear and labrum. Neck pain persisted. MRI then showed 4 right sided herniated disc. Elected to only address C5-C7. Surgeon thought I would be fine with just lower two. Year later dealing with much pain, can't turn head right, can't tilted head right, stabbing pain behind my right ear if moving my head. Right shoulder pain. Difficulty raising arm. Tingling , buzzing in face, shoulder and arm and intense forearm pain only gone. Is this C5 palsy?

Hi plower,
Welcome!

Others will be along to answer your question soon but in the meantime you might want to repost in your own thread. You've brought up an older thread and people will be less apt to notice it.

Sorry I can't say anything helpful about your questions (I hang out on the MS board but don't have much information on other conditions). There are people here who will try to be helpful.
