I forgot to mention in other posts that as a result of my shunt failure and large increase of ICP, I developed 4th nerve palsy in both eyes. Basically, my eyes are tilted, with the side nearest the nose pointing downward. The right eye is only off a small amount but the left is probably close to 30 degrees off. I have double vision, with the image on the left being very askew.

A neuro ophthalmologist had told me that this should correct itself over the next 4-6 months. Has anyone experienced this?

Hello! I was diagnosed with 4th nerve palsy in my left eye this last Thursday. I have to keep a patch on my eye at all times because my vision is otherwise fractured and blurry. And it also causes me extreme dizziness, nausea and headaches. I am looking for any support groups out there. I have to wear the eye patch for 6 weeks then go back to the eye specialist. I am not allowed to drive, work, and I'm pretty much housebound :-(

My first Post here was about my double vision. Mine is caused by a lesion through the middle of the occipital region of my brain and is unstable and permanent (no prisms to correct it). I, too, have lost my last little bit of freedom driving gave me - even being a passenger is nauseating and disorientating, so I know how you feel.
With me, my brain chemistry stops me wearing an eye patch. I lose all peripheral vision, then everything 'greys out' after a while as my eye dominance switches from right to left. What I have that helps a little is a pair of glasses with the left eyepiece covered with translucent plastic film.
This was recommended by my Opthalmic Consultant. It is fogged enough to blank out the double vision, but still lets in light so I am not so disorientated. And it is more aesthetically pleasing than a patch.
I truly hope your problem can be resolved as rapidly and completely as possible, anything affecting one's sight is one of the fastest and most complete ways to isolate the unprepared.
