Chat Intracranial hypertension (PTC) Introducing myself

Hello,

I'm a new member and hereby introducing myself. I'm a 25 yo woman from the Netherlands, hoping to contact others with IIH or/and having a VP-shunt like I've got since a few weeks, so that we can share experiences. Also I do hope to find someone to whom I can ask for advice if necessary. (I'm sorry if my English is not so good. )

Thanks a lot!

Hello Flamedlight,

Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

There are many posts throughout the forums for Pseudotumor Cerebri. You could use the forum search feature to find those. Just a hint... you will find more posts using the full name rather than the ptc as posted in Tags.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/search.php

You could also try asking on the

Hydrocephalus Forum

They would know all about vp shunts.

If you need any help navigating the forums please just post and we can help.

take care there.

Hi Flamedlight,
Growing up in my teens I had a lot of friends in the Netherlands and I visited regularly around the Arnheim and Utrecht areas. The most common greeting I heard was 'I'm sorry, my English is not too good'.
Let me tell you your English is better than many English people - as shown by your correct use of 'to whom'… and I can guarantee it is better than (m)any members mastery of Dutch
That being said, I hope you find the answers you are looking for here, and that your stay is long and fruitful.

Dave.

Hello, Flamedlight. Sorry, but I am not knowledgeable of what you are dealing with. Nevertheless, I hope you thrive here.

Hey!

Thanks for welcoming me. And also thanks for the tips!! By the way, if anyone is curious about the 'disease' and the vp shunt with which I deal, feel free to ask about it - feel free to ask anything!

Have a nice day!

Flamedlight,
I am sure you will find lots of answers and support on the Hydrocephalus Forum, but I - and many other members - am always interested in learning about how people cope with their conditions (not diseases) and how it affects daily life. As you are willing to share your experiences how about popping over to General Health, or any of the Support Forums should you feel the need, and enlighten us.

Dave.
